Maximizing AI Accuracy: Best Practices

Getting the Best Results from AI Detection

WayPresenter's AI scripture detection is powerful out of the box, but with a few optimizations, you can push accuracy above 90%. Here are our best practices from working with hundreds of churches.

Audio Quality Is Everything

The single biggest factor in detection accuracy is audio quality. A clean, direct audio signal makes all the difference.

Best: Direct feed from your soundboard via an aux output or USB audio interface. This eliminates room noise entirely and gives the AI a crystal-clear signal.

Good: A quality USB condenser microphone positioned 2-4 feet from the speaker. Aim the mic at the pulpit and away from loudspeakers.

Acceptable: System audio capture, primarily useful for testing or listening to recorded sermons.

Optimize Your Settings

Navigate to Settings > AI Detection and fine-tune these parameters:

  • Model Quality: Use "Accurate" if your computer can handle it (8GB+ RAM). Fall back to "Balanced" on older machines.
  • Sensitivity: Start at "Medium" and adjust based on results. Higher catches more references but may increase false positives.
  • Confidence Threshold: Set to 85% initially. Lower it if you're missing legitimate references.

Minimize Interference

During the sermon portion of your service:

  • Lower background music to minimal levels
  • Avoid running loud HVAC systems if possible
  • Keep the audio signal focused on the speaker's voice
  • If using a microphone, position it away from speaker monitors

Provide Feedback Consistently

WayPresenter learns from your corrections. Make it a habit to:

  • Confirm correct detections with the checkmark button
  • Dismiss incorrect detections with the X button
  • Correct misidentified references when possible

After 3-4 services of consistent feedback, you'll notice a significant improvement in accuracy for your specific speaker and environment.

Test Before Every Service

Spend two minutes before each service testing the detection:

  1. Enable AI detection
  2. Have someone read two or three Bible references at normal speaking pace
  3. Verify detections appear in the queue
  4. Check audio levels on the meter

This quick check catches any configuration issues before they matter during a live service.
